Overview
Focus Time is a productivity and timer-based application. We respect your privacy and comply with Google Play’s latest Data Safety requirements. We collect only the minimum data required to operate the app, and most data stays on your device.
Data We Collect
- App Usage Data (Optional & Anonymous): Basic analytics such as session length, features used, and crash logs. You can disable analytics at any time from Settings.
- Account Data (Optional): If you sign in (email), it is used only for sync and cloud backup. No account is required to use the app.
- Local App Data: Timer sessions, focus rounds, history, streaks, reminder settings. These stay ONLY on your device unless you manually enable cloud sync.
App Permissions
The app uses only the following permissions:
- Notification Permission: Required to send timer alerts and reminders.
- Exact Alarms (if applicable): Used only for timer accuracy; not used for background tracking.
The app does NOT access contacts, location, photos, media, files, device identifiers, or sensitive personal data.
How We Use Data
- To provide core features (timers, reminders, session history).
- To improve reliability and performance (crash logs, anonymized usage data).
- To enable backup and cross-device sync (only if you sign in).
We do not sell or rent your data. We use no data for advertising.
Sharing & Third-Party Services
We share limited data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the app:
- Analytics / Crash Reporting: Google Play App Signing, Firebase Crashlytics (anonymous).
- Cloud Sync (Optional): Used only if you enable account sign-in.
These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
We do NOT share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Local data stays on your device until you uninstall the app or clear data manually.
- Cloud-stored data (optional) is retained until you request deletion.
- You may request account deletion or cloud-data deletion anytime by emailing us.
Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may request:
- Access to your data
- Correction or update
- Deletion of cloud-stored data
- Export of your data
- Restriction or objection to certain processing

Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data. Local data remains on your device, and cloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No method of storage or transmission is fully secure.
Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed toward children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect new regulations or features. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and notify users when appropriate.
